What makes a best friend?
This is what some of our readers said ...
Katie
My name's Katie and I'm from New York. My best friend is in my class, so I see her every day. It's not a problem because we never argue! I like her because she's interesting and she always listens to me. I always tell her my secrets and other personal information and I know she doesn't tell other people.
Sarah
I'm Sarah and I'm from London. My best friend lives on the other side of town, so we don't meet often. She isn't perfect because she doesn't always listen to me. She can also be a bit boring because she doesn't like going out. I usually go to her house on Saturdays and sometimes stay until Sunday. She's funny though and we have a lot in common. For a start, we like the same singers and bands.
Mandisa
I'm Mandisa and I'm from Cape Town in South Africa. I've got a really special best friend. We go to the same basketball club, that's how I know him. He's friendly and knows a lot of people, but he's really kind and always has time for me. He's also very clever and often comes round to my house and helps me with my maths.

The Minute
The Minute is one of my favourite programmes on TV at the moment. It was shown for the first time about six months ago and became popular straight away. It's a news programme aimed at young people aged 12 - 16 and deals with all kinds of things that affect our lives.
The programme is on for half an hour every day. The first fifteen minutes look at news from around the world. In this part, teenagers from different countries are interviewed about their lives: their schools, their families and what they do in their free time. The second part of the programme is more about the world of celebrities and there are often interviews with music stars or young actors. These interviews usually happen in the TV studio, but sometimes the presenters travel to different places. Last week, for example, one of the presenters was in New York interviewing some of the actors at the Oscars.
A lot of material for The Minute is written by talented young people. This helps make the programme lively and interesting. The presenters are also great fun. There are two of them: Sandy Lucas and Luc Dubois. Sandy started her career as an actress on children's TV, had a small part in a soap opera and then started working on the show. Luc and his band came third in a reality TV music programme. He still enjoys singing - and sometimes performs on the show, but he prefers life as a presenter. I'd definitely like to recommend The Minute. It is well presented, well written and entertaining to watch.

Collecting action figures
Some people paint pictures in their free time. Other people are good sport or music while others are keen chess or computers. Fifteen-year-old Richard Jones doesn't do some of these things. He has collected action figures since he was ten years old. He loved the film Star Wars at the time, his sister bought him a figure of Luke Skywalker for his birthday. He bought all Star Wars figures and then started on the superheroes: Spiderman, Superman, Batman, Wolverine and the rest. Richard has 552 action figures in collection so far. They're on shelves, in his wardrobe and all over the floor! So do his parents think?
His mum says: "l don't mind! At he is interested in something!"
His dad says: "l can't get into his room!"

Hi David,
How are you? Have you read any good magazines recently? I've just bought a new called Coolclub, which only started a week . Inside, there are really great photos and lots articles about all our favorite singers and bands. There's going to be a competition next month, with excellent prizes.
The magazine also has a letters page and they pay £25 for the interesting letter or email. I think I'll try to write something funny, to win £25. Perhaps I'll describe our journey boat round the island. Do you remember? You taking a photo of me when I suddenly fell in the sea! I've never laughed so much!
Write and tell me about the magazines you enjoy reading.
With love from Dimitri.
