Three teenagers talk about cinema
A. Michael
I go to the cinema about once a month, usually on a Saturday. I like films about the police catching bad people. I prefer the American police films because there are faster cars. I like the action in the police films, not the science part. My mum and dad don't like going to the cinema; they prefer watching films online. So they never come with me, but that's OK because I always go with my friend Jane.
B. Josh
Funny films are the best because I love to laugh a lot. I go on Thursdays because it's half price for students. I never go at the weekend. I don't like cartoons because I want to see real people as actors. There are some funny films my parents won't let me see because they are for adults, but my brother takes me to see them. He tells the cinema staff that I am over eighteen. Sometimes they find us in the middle of the film and ask us to leave.
C. Mark
I always like films about true stories. It is a different way to learn about history, geography and science. Watching such films sometimes helps me with my homework. I also like films which show different places around the world. After watching these kinds of films, I dream about going to these places and look at the places on Google maps. Some of these films are very well made but there are also a lot of bad films that I don't enjoy watching. I go to the cinema on Fridays. However, I would prefer to go at the weekend because there are special ticket offers, but I can't, as I have a weekend job.

We want to be stars!
by Georgia Broom
I'm in a rock band called The Pink Stars with two other girls from school. We didn't really know each other before we started playing four months ago, but now we're great friends. We've all been in other bands before and love rock music. Finding a place to practice is a problem, but we're lucky because my parents don't mind if we use a room in our house two or three times a week.
On Saturday afternoons, we usually do different things than our friends from school. Instead of going to the cinema or a café, we give a concert in a large music shop in town. It's great fun! We really enjoy choosing what we'll wear. Sometimes we go shopping for something special a day or two before we play.
When we started giving concerts, only our families came to see us. But soon, our brothers and sisters started inviting their friends. We felt a bit shy when some classmates came to see us, but we were pleased when they loved our music. Now other people are beginning to come to the shop just to listen to us! We're becoming famous.
This summer we're going to play at our first open-air rock concert. It'll be wonderful to be on a stage in front of all those people. I can't wait!
I sing and play the guitar. I can also play the keyboard, but I don't like it very much. Rachel plays the drums and Annie plays the guitar and keyboard. We've written seven of our own songs to upload to our channel. We've also got our own website, so to learn more about The Pink Stars, visit www.pinkstars.com. It has all the information about our concerts.
