The Special Kite
Helen was cleaning the basement on Saturday morning. It was dark and untidy. She found many old things like books, toys, and clothes. Then, in the corner, she saw a beautiful red and yellow kite with a long tail!
"I want to try this!" Helen thought.
She took the kite to the park. There was no wind that day. The trees were not moving at all. Helen felt sad because she couldn't fly a kite without wind.
But when she held the kite up, something strange happened! The kite started to fly and went high into the blue sky. Helen was so surprised!
The next day, Helen showed the kite to her friends Tom and Sophia. "This kite is wonderful! It flies without wind!" she said.
Tom laughed. "That can't happen!"
"Let me see!" said Sophia. She took the kite and ran around the park, but it didn't fly. It just fell to the ground. Tom tried too, but nothing happened.
Then Helen took the kite again, and it flew high in the sky!
"It only flies for you, Helen!" said Tom.
