A surprise from Oliver

Oliver wanted to make a special meal for their family. He never cooked before, but he thought, "It can't be too difficult!"

He looked at a cooking website and decided what to make. He chose pasta with tomato sauce, cheese, olives, and meatballs. He also wanted to make a fruit salad.

First, Oliver cooked the pasta with olives and meatballs. The food looked great with red tomato sauce. But then problems started. Oliver didn't know how much salt to use. He added a big spoon of salt - it was too much! Then he added cheese on top to finish.

For the fruit salad, Oliver cut the strawberries, mangoes, and pineapples into small pieces. He added some honey too. This was easy and looked beautiful.

When his family came for dinner, Oliver felt worried. They sat down and made strange faces when they ate the pasta.

His mom smiled and said, "It's... interesting, Oliver!"

His dad laughed. "There's a lot of salt in this!"

Oliver ate the pasta. It tasted horrible! "Oh no! I'm so sorry," he said.

His little sister ate all the salad. "But this is delicious, Oliver!" she said.

His dad smiled. "How about eating pizza tonight? Next time, we can cook together, and I'll show you my secrets."

Oliver felt much better. "Really? Can we make pasta again?"
