The Strange Sounds at Night

Anna usually slept very well. She never heard anything at night. When she went to bed, she closed her eyes and fell asleep quickly.

But one night was different. It was raining hard outside, and the wind was very strong. Anna felt strange. She couldn't sleep quickly.

Then Anna heard a strange sound. It sounded like footsteps. Someone was walking in the house! Anna felt scared, but she still got out of bed and went to see.

Anna looked down the stairs. Nothing was there. She got to the kitchen and the living room. Everything looked fine. "Maybe I was dreaming," Anna thought. She went back to bed.

But then she heard the sound again! This time it was closer. The footsteps were coming toward her room! Anna's heart went fast. She jumped out of bed and ran to see again.

She looked everywhere. All the windows and doors were closed. Then she looked up at the roof and understood. The sound wasn't footsteps at all. It was water which was dropping from the roof onto the floor!
