The Birthday Surprise

It was Friday afternoon. Anna sat in her classroom and felt very sad. Tomorrow was her birthday, but she wasn't excited. Her best friend Sophia didn't talk to her all week.

Every day at lunch, Sophia usually sits with Anna. But this week, Sophia sat with other students. Anna felt alone and sad. "Sophia doesn't want to be my friend anymore," Anna thought.

After school, Anna's phone made a sound. It was a text from Sophia: "Can you come to my house tomorrow at 2 pm?" Anna didn't want to go, but her mom said, "You should go, Anna."

On Saturday, Anna arrived at Sophia's house 10 minutes early. She felt worried. She knocked on the door. Suddenly, Sophia opened the door and shouted, "SURPRISE!"

Anna looked inside and couldn't believe her eyes. All of her friends were there! There were balloons everywhere, a big birthday cake, and lots of presents on the table.
