The Soccer Competition

It was Saturday morning at the school soccer field. Ben's team had an important match today. Ben's job was to stop the ball from going into the net, but he felt worried. Last week, he let three goals go in, and his team lost. He still felt terrible about it.

Before the match started, his friend Alex walked over to him. "Don't worry about last week," Alex said with a smile. "Today is a new day. We believe in you!" Ben felt a little better.

The match was very exciting. The score was 2-2 with only two minutes left to play. Suddenly, a player from the other team kicked the ball very hard toward the goal. The ball came very fast! Ben jumped as high as he could and caught the ball with both hands. Everyone shouted loudly!

During the last minute, Ben's team scored one more goal. They won 3-2! After the match, the team had a big party together. They were so pleased!

Ben's teacher put his hand on Ben's shoulder and said, "See? Everyone makes mistakes, but working harder is important!"
