In the past, universities were very (0) different from today. For a long time, they were only for rich young men. Women study at universities for a long time. , they had to stay at home and learn to after their families. Poor people didn't go to university  their families needed them to work.

The first universities were very old - some opened over 900 years ago! Students studied like maths, language, and science. Without computers or the internet, they learned with books and listened their teachers. They  everything by hand with pens and ink.

Today, universities are much more popular before. Both men and women study together in the classrooms. are libraries with millions of books and computers with the internet. And students can study from home too!

Max's Adventure

Every weekend, Anna and her dog, Max, go for a walk in the park. Max loves to run on the grass and play with his ball.

But yesterday was different. When Anna threw the ball, Max ran after it and didn't come back. He disappeared. Anna waited and waited. She felt very worried and started to look for him everywhere. She ran around the park and shouted, "Max! Max!" many times. The park was full of people. It was noisy, and she couldn't hear anything.

Then, suddenly, Anna saw something white behind a big tree. It looked like Max's tail! She ran to the tree and shouted, "Max!"

Max turned around. He was wet and dirty. He was trying to play with two white swans in the pond! Anna started to laugh. "Oh, Max! Don't do that again!" she said.

She took Max home. He was so happy and not tired at all. When they arrived, Anna's mom saw them and asked, "What happened to Max? Why is he so wet?"

Anna smiled and said, "Max made some new friends in the park today!"

Anna’s mom laughed too. “Well, I think Max needs a bath now,” she said. Anna agreed. She gave Max a warm bath and used a soft towel to dry him. Max was hungry but happy after his big adventure.

How are you? School started last week, and I have a new deskmate!

Her name is Betty and she just moved here from another city. At first, I was a little worried because I know her. But now we're already good friends! She's really friendly and funny. We have the hobbies – we both love reading books and drawing! 

During breaks, we sit together and chat about everything. Yesterday, she gave me some of her delicious cookies! She's also very good math, she helps me with difficult problems. I help her with her English homework.
