Last Thursday morning, Emma's class went on an exciting trip to the city museum in town. They wanted to learn about how people lived in the past. The children were very interested in the old clothes and tools there.

During the day, she couldn't stop thinking about her birthday. When her lessons finished, Lucy walked back to her house. The house was dark and quiet. "Perhaps everyone went out," she thought sadly. She opened the front door slowly, put her bag down, and walked into the living room.

Suddenly, all the lights turned on at the same time! "Happy Birthday!" a lot of loud voices shouted. Lucy was very surprised when she saw all her school friends and her family standing there. The room looked beautiful with colourful balloons everywhere. Then, her parents brought out a fantastic present. It was a new red bicycle! Lucy was very happy when she saw it.

The party was really fun. Everyone ate delicious chocolate cake and drank lemonade. Later, they played exciting games in the garden and took lots of funny photos together. Before her friends went home, Lucy thanked everyone. She hugged her parents and said, "This is my best birthday ever!"
