Honey bees

The alien treasure

It was raining heavily on Saturday, so Peter and his best friend, Harry, couldn't play football outside. "Let's be astronauts and explore a strange new planet!" Harry said excitedly. Peter thought this was a brilliant idea. He decided that the dark basement under his house was the perfect place to be the strange planet. They put on their winter coats to be spacesuits and started their adventure.

The stairs down to the basement were very dark and dirty. Harry felt a bit afraid because he couldn't see anything. "Don't worry!" Peter said kindly. "I brought Dad's phone with me. We can use it to see in the dark." Peter turned on the light, and the boys started looking everywhere for special alien rocks.

Suddenly, Harry pulled a small metal box from under some old newspapers. He opened it quickly and shouted, "Look, Peter! I found some alien gold!" Peter laughed loudly. "You are very silly, Harry! Aliens aren't real," he said. Harry felt unhappy and angry. He threw the little box on the hard floor and wanted to leave.

When the box hit the floor, it opened, and lots of things fell out. Peter looked down and his eyes opened wide. The box was full of old silver coins! Peter's grandfather hid them there many years ago. "I'm sorry, Harry. You aren't silly at all," Peter smiled. "We didn't find alien gold, but we found a real treasure!"
