On Saturday afternoon, Holly's mum asked her to go to the fruit shop to buy some strawberries to make a birthday cake for her little brother. "Please be fast," her mum said.

While Holly was walking there, she saw a band in the street. They were playing and singing songs. Holly stopped to watch them because they were fantastic. She enjoyed the show so much that she forgot about the time.

When Holly finally got to the shop, she looked for the strawberries. But the boxes were ! "Sorry, I haven't got any more," the man in the shop said. Holly felt very because she thought there were no strawberries for the party.

She walked home slowly with a sad face. But when she opened the door, her dad was standing in the kitchen with a smile. He had a large box of strawberries! "I these on my way home from work," he said. Mum was very because they had everything for the cake, and they all had a wonderful time together.

Winter sports

Winter sports are exciting activities that people do when (0) there is a lot of snow and ice outside. Many people love to the mountains in the colder months of the year.

One of the popular winter sports is skiing. In this sport, skiers use long boards and special sticks to help move quickly down the hills. If you do like skiing, perhaps try snowboarding instead. This fun sport looks surfing, but you do it on the snow!

Another wonderful sport is ice skating. You must wear special boots have sharp pieces of metal on the bottom. You can skate outside on beautiful lakes with ice inside big sports centres. Ice hockey is a very fast team sport. The players must work hard together a small black thing into a net on the ice.

It is very important to wear warm clothes you go outside to play. You should always put a strong helmet your head to stay very safe.

Ben learns to read a map

Ben loved learning about wild animals very much, but he usually fell asleep during his Geography lessons. His teacher often said, "You must learn about different countries and look at maps, Ben. It is very important." But Ben thought reading about the world was boring and didn't listen.

One evening, Ben was looking on the internet when he saw some exciting news. A famous man from a TV channel called Richard was going to bring some strange animals to the city centre. Ben asked his dad to take him. His dad phoned to buy tickets, but there weren't any left. Ben felt very sad.

The next morning, the head teacher told the children, "Richard is going to visit our school today! He is bringing a huge parrot with him." When Richard arrived, he gave a beautiful poster of a lion to every student. Then, the friendly man looked at Ben and asked, "This parrot comes from a big forest in South America. Do you know where that is?" Ben's face went red because he didn't know the answer.

Richard was very kind. He opened a map and showed Ben where South America was, and then let him give some sweet nuts to the parrot. It was a wonderful time! Now, Ben never sleeps in class. He works very hard and is always the best student in Geography because he wants to learn where all the amazing animals live.

Ben felt very sad because his father couldn't to see the strange animals.

Because Ben wants to learn about amazing animals, he is now in Geography.
