One afternoon, Sarah's mother was riding her black and yellow bike when suddenly one of the wheels broke. She couldn't ride it. There were lots of people walking on the path. A police officer came and, together, they pushed the bike to the side of the path. 'That's enough!' Sarah's mother thought. 'I must have a new bike. I'm going to buy the pink one that I saw at the shop.'

So on Saturday, she bought the new bike. Sarah and her mother wanted to try it, so they rode their bikes to the town square. After half an hour, they decided to stop because they were very thirsty. They stopped outside a busy café and left their bikes near the door.

They had some cold lemonade in a café and then they decided to ride home again. Outside in the street, Sarah's mother said, 'Where is my new bike? It's not here!' They spent ten minutes looking for it, but they couldn't see it anywhere.

Then they found the friendly police officer and said, 'We can't find our bike!' The police officer looked at them and said, 'Is it a black and yellow one?' 'No,' said Sarah's mother. 'Good!' said the police officer, 'because I remember you and your broken wheel! Look, a waiter moved your pink bike over there.' They looked across the street and saw the pink bike near some big plants!
