Last Friday evening, Betty walked home from her chess club. It was dark, and it was raining. The street near her house was empty. When Betty opened the front door and went inside, she heard a strange noise in the kitchen. She walked into the room and turned on the light. Suddenly, she saw a large green alien! It was holding a piece of pizza in its hand, and there was a bottle of lemonade on the table next to it.

Betty was very frightened. She thought the alien wanted to take her into space. She quickly ran into the living room and hid behind the sofa. The alien followed her. When it saw that Betty was really frightened, it quickly took off its large green head.

'Richard!' Betty shouted. It was her cousin Richard, wearing a funny alien costume. Richard started laughing. 'I only wanted to surprise you!' he said. Betty was very angry. 'That was not funny!' she said. Then she saw the pizza in Richard's hand. 'You can give me some of that,' Betty said. Richard smiled and gave her a piece.

They went back into the kitchen and sat at the table. Richard put the large green head on a chair. Then he opened the bottle of lemonade, but he did not hold it carefully. The lemonade went all over his alien costume! Betty laughed loudly. 'Now you really look strange!' she said. Richard looked down at his wet costume and laughed too.
