Chocolate

(0) Most children and grown-ups in the world enjoy sweet things, and chocolate is usually their favourite! But do you know where it comes ?

Chocolate actually starts on a special tree called the cacao tree. These trees only grow in places are very hot and wet. Inside the fruit of these trees, there are small beans. Farmers take the beans and dry outside in the sun.

After that, people take the beans and cook them. the real beans do not taste sweet, people add sugar and milk. A long time ago, people chocolate with hot water, but now we eat it. Today, there are different kinds of chocolate in the shops.

But here is something interesting! White chocolate is of sugar, milk, and the butter from the bean, but it does not have the dark part of the bean inside it.

It is quite good for you you eat pieces of dark chocolate. It can help you feel better after a busy day. But you shouldn't eat too much chocolate, or your teeth hurt!

Charlie's favourite costume

It was Costume Day at Riverside School, and all the students wore amazing clothes. Most of Charlie's friends dressed up as pirates, clowns or different animals. Charlie decided to wear a scary dinosaur costume with a long green tail. Everyone in his class felt very excited about the special day.

After the fun party finished, the children went outside and waited for their parents in the playground. Suddenly, Charlie saw a tall man standing near the school gate. The man was wearing an old shirt with red paint all over it. Charlie thought the man's clothes looked fantastic.

Charlie quickly ran over to the man because he wanted to talk to him. “Wow! You look amazing!” Charlie said happily. “Your colourful artist costume is the best ones here!” The man looked surprised for a moment, but then he smiled and laughed.

“Thank you,” the man said. “But these aren't clothes for the party! I am a painter, and I had a very busy day at work. I didn't have time to change my clothes. I just came here to get my daughter.” Just then, a girl in a pink fairy dress ran to the man. Charlie understood why the man's shirt had paint on it, and he laughed too.
