A fun day at the beach
On Saturday morning, Alex woke up and looked out of his bedroom window. It was raining really hard. "This is terrible," Alex thought. His class wanted to go camping in the forest, but their teacher, Mr. White, sent a message to everyone. "Sorry, we can't go camping today because of the bad weather," he wrote. Alex felt quite sad.
But at ten o'clock, the rain stopped and the warm sun came out. Mr. White sent another message. "Get your bags! We are going to the beach instead!" he wrote. Alex was very excited. He quickly put his sunglasses in his bag and his mother drove him to the beach.
When Alex arrived, his classmates were already there. First, they walked along the beach and found some beautiful shells. Then, Alex and his best friend, Ben, decided to build an enormous sandcastle. They worked hard for two hours and put the shells on its doors. After that, all the children sat around the sandcastle and sang some songs together.
On Sunday morning, Alex and his parents walked to the beach again. The big sandcastle wasn't there because the sea broke it in the night. But Alex didn't mind. Later, he met Ben at the park and they chatted happily about their wonderful trip.
Alex's teacher sent a message to say the class couldn't go on Saturday.
