Last Friday afternoon, Katy went to the zoo with her dad. She really wanted to see the little black and white penguins because they are her favourite animals. But when they arrived, it was late and the gates were already . Katy felt very sad about it.

"We are too late," her dad said quietly.

Suddenly, a man in a green uniform walked past them. He looked at Katy and smiled. "Are you here to visit the animals?" he asked them. "I am going to them. Would you like to come with me?"

Katy and her dad were very surprised and they quickly the kind man. They walked into a large, warm building. It was very in there because the hungry penguins were calling for food. The man gave Katy a plastic bowl with some in it. She threw them to these birds.

Katy laughed happily when she watched them eat. It was a wonderful day!

Sharks

Sharks are interesting fish that live in (0) the sea. They lived on Earth for millions of years. They lived even before dinosaurs!

There are many different kinds of sharks the world. The biggest one is the very big whale shark. People feel very afraid of these animals. They think all sharks are dangerous, but most sharks do not want people. They prefer to eat smaller fish or other sea animals.

A shark has an unusual body. It does not have hard bones like we do. It is made of something much lighter, which helps it swim. Sharks have fantastic teeth, too. In its life, a shark can grow thousands of new teeth! They need them they often lose their teeth while eating.

When sharks move, they use strong tails to push themselves through the water. Some sharks can swim than a boat.

There are some deep parts of the ocean you can find very strange sharks that live in the dark! We try to look after all sharks. They help to keep the sea clean.

The silver box

Harry and his older sister, Emma, went to a beautiful, quiet island for their summer holiday with their parents. They travelled there by boat. The journey took three hours, so they were very tired when they arrived. But every morning after that, the children walked on the beach to look for shells. They wanted to take some home for their school friends.

One sunny afternoon, Harry saw something strange in the sand near a large rock. It wasn't a shell. It was a silver box! Emma tried to open the box with her hands, but she couldn't do it. "We can't open it," she explained to her brother. "We need a key." Harry was very excited. He thought it was full of gold!

Suddenly, a tall man with a friendly black dog walked towards them. The man looked at the silver box and smiled. "I lost that box in the water a long time ago!" he said. He took a small key from his pocket and opened the box. Inside, there was no gold, but there were lots of old maps.

"These old maps show all the secret paths on this island," the man told them. He gave an old map to Harry and Emma to say thank you for finding his box. The next day, the family used the map to find a wonderful waterfall in the forest. It was the best holiday ever!

I had a wonderful time the beach today with my cousins. We spent hours swimming in the sea and riding the big waves back to the sand. After a few hours, the wind got stronger, and it was dangerous swim out there. "I think the tomorrow will be sunny," Dad says, "so we can come back here in the morning." This , when I came home for my dinner, my feet cold. I need to find some better shoes for tomorrow.
