He felt quite frightened, so he shouted, "Who’s hiding in there?" Then, a strange machine moved out from behind the tree! It had a square body, two small wheels instead of legs, and two lights for eyes. When it got near, Jack saw that it was made of metal. "It’s a robot!" he thought.
"Can you understand me? I’m Jack," he said. "Yes, I have learned every language in the world. You can call me Z-99," the robot answered. "I’ve travelled from the future," Z-99 said. "Now, I want to learn about sports!" Jack smiled. "I have football practice tomorrow. You can come with me," he said. Z-99 was very happy and said, "That sounds great!"
The next day, Jack took Z-99 to his football practice. "This is my clever new toy," he told his team. Z-99 did not speak, but it moved quickly, got the ball and passed it to Jack. Everyone was surprised and wanted to play with the robot. After the practice, Jack took Z-99 home.
