Camels
Camels have unusual shapes on their backs. These are called "humps".
are two kinds of camels. The first kind has one hump on back and the other kind has two humps. Most camels in the world live the weather is hot and dry - in places like deserts, for example. The people also live in these places might camels to carry all their heavy things on long journeys. These people have camels for thousands of years, too.
Camels can live without food or water for six months and most camels live forty and fifty years! About fourteen million camels live in the world at the moment.
It is easier for camels to live in deserts other animals because their bodies are high above the hot ground and their large feet help them quickly across sand. A camel can run across sand really fast. camels can travel 45 kilometers in one hour.

Up a tree
Helen is a member of the volleyball team at school and she likes practicing at home, too. Helen's dad put up a volleyball net in their garden, so Helen can play there. One Saturday last year, Helen bought a new volleyball with red and white stripes. She wanted to try it, so she invited Katy to her house to play.
It was very windy when the girls started playing. "I'm sure that a storm is coming," Katy said, but Helen didn't mind. She was very pleased with her new ball and didn't want to stop. Then, Katy hit the ball really hard and a strong wind carried it to the top of a tree!
"I'll go and fetch it!" Helen said. She started climbing up the tree and Katy watched from below. The tree was tall, so Katy was worried. "Be careful, Helen!" she said. Then, when Helen was close to the ball, the wind got very strong. Now, Helen was too afraid to climb down!
Helen's parents weren't home, so Katy called the fire station for help. Half an hour later, a fire engine arrived and a firefighter carried Helen down. "You're lucky you didn't fall," the firefighter said. Months later, when the autumn came, the ball fell down, but Helen will never climb up that tree again!

My friend May likes to camp in a tent in the forest. She goes to the forest every weekend. She carries her tent, clothes, and food in her rucksack. There are a of birds and animals in the forest, and May likes to look at them. The rabbits are her favorite animals, but she always been afraid of bears.
She knows they are dangerous because they are very big and strong. In the spring, May goes the river in the forest to see the baby ducks. They are lovely but sometimes they are noisy.
