An unusual instrument
Last Saturday at midday, Sarah went to the basement in her house to play the drums. Usually, Sarah loved practicing, but today she was a little worried. She was a member of a band and that evening they were in a music competition at school. "l really hope that nothing goes wrong later," she thought.
After a while, she got a text message from William, the singer in the band. "Let's eat at a noodle restaurant before the competition," it said. At the restaurant, Sarah enjoyed the delicious noodles and started to feel better.
When she arrived at the school gym, she couldn't wait to get on stage. But after she sat down in her seat behind the drums, something terrible happened. She couldn't find the pieces of wood she used to play the drums! "Oh, no! I've forgotten them at home!" she thought. She felt horrible as the other members started playing their instruments.
Then, Sarah felt something inside her pocket. It was a pair of chopsticks from the noodle restaurant! She quickly took them out and started playing the drums with them! At the end, everyone clapped and William came over to Sarah. "l thought you didn't know how to use chopsticks!" he said laughing. The band couldn't win a prize, but Sarah still has those chopsticks today!

Dear Emma,
We've arrived at the hotel and it's very nice. My sister has spent all day in the pool at the hotel, but I have walked round the village and read my book. I'm reading the book which you me for Christmas and I'm enjoying it a lot, so thanks again.
I like staying the hotel because I don't have to tidy my room - the people who work here do it. Tonight we're going to see a film. I think will be very good. All children want to see this film. We will be here three more days.
See you soon!
Love from William
