History of schools
In the past, schools were very different to today. Poor children didn't always go school. Often worked in factories because their families needed the money. Girls sometimes go to school or if they did, they went to schools that were only for girls where boys go.
The classroom in the past looked different too there were no computers. some things were the same - children sat at desks and looked at what the teacher on the board. The subjects were the same too - children maths, English and science.
Teachers were often unfriendly than they are today. If a child was naughty, the teachers could hit him or her they wanted to.

The wrong suitcase
Last month, Harry went on holiday with his mum and dad. They went to a cheap hotel by the sea for a week. Harry was very happy because they were traveling by plane. It was Harry's first time in a plane. When they landed at the airport, Harry and his parents went to get their suitcases. His parents had a big red suitcase and Harry had a small one with black stripes.
Then they took a taxi to their hotel. Harry thought the hotel was excellent because it had a very big swimming pool. Harry wanted to go for a swim before he did anything else. He went to his room and opened his suitcase to get his swimming shorts. Harry was very surprised when he opened his suitcase. It was full of dresses! It wasn't Harry's suitcase! His mum found a name and phone number in the suitcase and she called the number. The woman on the phone said she had Harry’s suitcase.
That afternoon Harry and his parents met the woman. She was very happy to get her suitcase back and she wanted to thank them. The woman was very rich and the next day Harry and his parents had lunch with her - on her boat! It was Harry's best holiday!

Hi Sophia,
How's everything?
Do you remember that delicious cake we ate last week? Well, I know how to make it now. It's easy! First, you need to make the bottom the cake. To do this, mix 12 biscuits, a cup of butter and a spoon of sugar in a bowl. Then, in bowl, mix two cups of flour, a cup of milk, two eggs, and a cup of butter together. Add this to the bottom part of the cake.
After, put the cake into the oven for one hour. When it's ready, turn the oven. Then, put some strawberries on top. That's it! It's the best cake I have ever !
See you next week,
Holly
