Last Saturday, Fred and Dad went fishing at the river. It was a sunny day. Dad had a big net and he put some bread on it. He put the net in the water. They sat on the grass and waited. Waiting was very because there was nothing to do.
For lunch, Fred and Dad ate a cheese sandwich and some lemonade. Then, the net started to move. ‘Dad, look!’ Fred shouted. ‘There is something under the water, and that thing must be ! I can’t take it out of the water.’
‘Don’t worry! I’m coming!’ said Dad.
Dad helped Fred with the net. But there wasn't a fish inside. It was an old, brown boot!

Blankets
Every family always got blankets in the homes. They help people keep warm when it is cold. Blankets come in many colours. Some have got pictures of animals or flowers on them. People usually put blankets on beds. Blankets can be big for a parent's bed or small for a baby's bed. People can use blankets in other places . When they watch television on the sofa in the evening, it is very nice to sit under a warm blanket. When people go a picnic in the countryside, a blanket is a great thing to take. They put it on the grass and then sit on it.
Look at the pictures and read the story. Write some words to complete the sentences about the story. You can use 1, 2 or 3 words.
The sick kitten

Jane had a small white kitten. He was called Pip. He loved to run and play with his red ball. Every morning, Jane gave him some milk and pies. But one Monday morning, Pip didn’t want to eat his breakfast. He didn’t want to play either. He just stayed on his blanket and looked very tired.
