Fred and Daisy loved going for long walks. Last Sunday, they went to a big mountain. They to the top and looked down. They saw a beautiful green below them.

Then, Fred saw a cave. 'Look!' he said. 'Let's go and look inside.' They walked into the cave. It was dark and very there, but they found something great. There were some old pictures of animals on the wall! 'Wow!' Daisy said. 'These are fantastic.' Suddenly, a big black bat flew out! Fred and Daisy were very scared, so they ran outside.

'I am hungry,' Daisy said. 'Can we have our now?' They sat on some rocks to eat their cheese sandwiches.  'Let's Dad,' Fred said. 'I want to tell him about the pictures and the bat!'

After their lunch, Fred and Daisy walked down the mountain and went home. It was a brilliant day.

Pandas

Pandas are beautiful black and white bears live in the high mountains of China. They need to eat plants a lot every day to be strong and big. Pandas are very good climbing. They can run and jump up into the trees very quickly. Baby pandas live with mothers for about two years. The mothers help them a lot, but sometimes they must walk away to find food. Many people to China to see pandas. They say that pandas look like big, nice toys. There not many pandas in the world today, so some pandas live in big zoos. 

Look at the pictures and read the story. Write some words to complete the sentences about the story. You can use 1, 2 or 3 words.

At the cinema

Last Sunday, Lily and her friend, Paul, rode the bus to the cinema with Paul’s mother. They wanted to see a new film about a famous pirate. Lily loves exciting stories. She carried some sweets in her small bag. Paul’s mother bought the tickets and some lemonade. "What a great big screen!" Paul said. Paul’s mother smiled and said, "I want to see the pirates’ big ship on the screen." Paul would like to sit at the centre of the room.

She was sad because they couldn't watch the film without them. Paul and his mother stood near the door, but Lily went back to where they bought the tickets.
