Jane and Paul

On Saturday morning, it was sunny. Jack and his sister, Clare, went to the beach. They carried a big blue bag. Inside, there was a of cold water and some fruit. Jack wore his new red , but the sun got very hot, so he took it off and put it in the bag. They walked along the sand and looked for pretty shells.

Then Clare stopped and pointed at something in the water. It was a big green ball! Jack walked into the sea to get it. But the water moved very quickly and took the ball far away. Jack swam after it. Clare stood on the sand and started to because she was very afraid.

But Jack was fine! He could swim very well. He swam back to the beach with the ball. Clare looked at her wet brother and . They sat down and ate all their fruit. Then they brought the ball back home. It was a wonderful day!

Jungles

Jungles are very hot and wet places where are lots of tall trees and green plants. Because it rains a lot, plants grow very quickly. Many different animals live in jungles. You can find monkeys jump in the trees. Tigers walk quietly on the ground to look for food. Sometimes, snakes under the leaves. There are also big rivers in jungles. Crocodiles swim in the water and wait their food. Some of our sweet fruit and plants come from jungles. Jungles are only a small part of the world, but give us a lot of great things.

A Different Football Game

Anna is nine, and she has two older sisters, Jane and Mary, who love football. ‘Come and have a game of football with us,’ they say every day. But Anna never goes because she doesn't enjoy playing football. She likes reading comic books better. She reads them all day. Her mother often says to her, ‘Anna, don't sit in the house with your comics. Go and play in the park.’ But Anna doesn't want to.
