FUN FACTS ABOUT ELEPHANTS

The elephant belongs to the mammal family. It is world's largest land animal. African elephants can be three meters tall and they can be as as 7,500kg, while Asian Elephants are a bit smaller. They are known for their large ears and trunks. They also have long teeth called 'tusks' that never stop growing, so the tusks are very large, the elephant is really old.

These magnificent mammals spend between twelve to eighteen hours eating grass, plants and fruit day! Sadly, elephants are danger. Many are killed by humans for their tusks, and in Asia tourists pay to ride on their backs or watch them paint pictures with their trunks.
