Christmas at the Johnson family home is different every year. Last year they did a Secret Santa. That means you don't know who gave you your gift, so you have to guess who it was. Dennis got a toy truck. He guessed that his uncle gave it to him because his uncle was a truck driver. He was right!

This year, Dennis spent Christmas only with his brother Matthew and their parents. Dennis and Matthew each made three wishes for presents from their parents. They were going to guess their gift before opening the presents up. Dennis wished for a new baseball glove, a game CD, and a set of cards.

First, they ate ham and eggs for breakfast and their parents had coffee. It seemed as if hours and hours went by before it was finally time to open gifts. Dennis' present came wrapped in green paper with a gold ribbon. The box was square and about the size of a melon. He knew that it could not be the cards because that would come in a rectangular box. He also knew that it was not the game because the box would be much smaller. So, he guessed that his gift was a baseball glove. He was right!
