Read a story about April. Then answer the questions.

April's school went to the international culture fair. There were many booths of different sizes. Exhibitors came from all over the world to introduce their countries and cultures. Some booths had hung up huge flags and photos of their countries. Some exhibitors showed the students how to make their national food and others showed them video clips of the landscape.

April walked around and stopped at one of the booths.

"Egypt?" she wondered aloud. Just then, someone came and greeted her.

"Hello, my name is Hassan. What's your name?" asked the man.

"Hi, Hassan. My name is April. Are those words?" April asked, pointing at some written messages on the wall.

"Yes, those are Arabic words. Arabic is our national language. Some people think Arabic letters look cute because they look like little worms. I can write your name in Arabic, too," replied Hassan.

"Really? Could you write my last name in Arabic?" asked April.

"Sure. What's your last name?" asked Hassan.

"It is Hope," said April.

"Hope? You have such a nice last name." Hassan picked up a postcard with a photo of Egypt and wrote Hope in Arabic.

"Hope in Arabic is Amal," said Hassan, handing the postcard to April.

"Wow, this is wonderful! Thank you so much," replied April.

On the way back to school, April kept looking at the postcard, repeating her new name to herself.

"Amal...l love my new name."
