Mobile phones give off microwave radio emissions. Investigators are questioning whether exposure to these radio waves might to brain cancer. So far, the figures are not final. The precise evidence does not enable us to say in certain that mobile phones are definitely safe. On the other hand, recent research has not yet clear adverse effect associated with the prolonged use of mobile phones.
Many studies are now going in numerous countries. Some of the results are contradictory but the others have shown an association between mobile phone use and cancer. , these studies are preliminary, and the issue needs further, long-term investigation.
Until the scientific data is more definite, it is advisable for people to try not to use mobile phones for long periods of time. Don't think that phones are any safer either. At the moment, research is in fact showing the opposite and they may be just as hazardous. It is also thought that young people bodies are still growing may be at particular risk.

Mount Everest
1. The highest mountain on the earth is Mt. Everest. Located on the border of Nepal and Tibet, it is part of the Himalayan mountain range. Measuring the exact height of Mt. Everest is difficult because snow and ice covers the top of the mountain. It was once measured 29,002 feet by early surveyors. However, their measurement was inaccurate. If they had considered the height of snow and ice that covered the top of Everest, it would have been more accurate. In May 1999, the American Everest Expedition determined a new height for Mt. Everest-29,035 feet above sea level-using GPS (Global Positioning System.
2. The mountain was not always called Everest. In the ancient Sanskrit language, it was called Devgiri. In 1865, the Englishman Andrew Waugh named the mountain "Everest" after his predecessor, George Everest. The Nepalese government refused the name at the start and invented a new name, Sagarmatha. However, the English name has become popular.
3. Mt. Everest is the most challenging mountain to climb because of its height. The first climbers to reach the top of Everest were Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay, a Nepalese guide skilled at mountain climbing. They reached the top on May 29, 1953. For Hillary's success, Queen Elizabeth knighted him.
4. Unfortunately, a lot of climbing attempts in the past were unsuccessful or even deadly. In 1996, fifteen people died trying to reach the summit. The deaths were attributed to the lower levels of oxygen that resulted from a snowstorm on the mountain. Other people who have died climbing were killed because they took a more dangerous route, which is the Northwest side of the mountain.

Changing diets
Even in quite traditional societies, eating habits are changing. In the past, people used to prepare good filling meals from fresh ingredients and what was readily available in markets, but now convenience food is becoming (INCREASE) popular. Research shows that eating some types of food too often may cause health problems, so governments and other organisations now offer information about diet and nutrition in the hope that it will (COURAGE) people from eating too much of the same thing and have a generally more (BALANCE) diet.
On the other hand, some people argue that despite the (APPEAR) of many traditional dishes from our menus, in general our diets are not as repetitive as they used to be. There is a much wider (CHOOSE) of products available in supermarkets and other shops than there was 20 years ago.
