At a time when climate change is already one of the world's most serious problems, using large amounts of fuel to send wealthy individuals on a ten-minute joyride is difficult for many people to accept. There is also a deeper concern - that space tourism, in its current form, is an extreme example of a world where extraordinary experiences are available only to those who can afford to pay for them.

For now, the stars remain out of reach for most people. The question worth asking is whether they should stay that way.
