Charles and Pam received two brochures in the mail. One was for a summer music camp in Australia and the other was for an art camp in Italy. They thought it would be a great idea for their twin daughters, Lauren and Karen, to go to two different camps this year. The girls had never been apart from each other. They did everything together. Charles and Pam thought that living in different places for the summer would teach the twins how to live and solve their problems individually.

Later that night, Charles and Pam showed the girls the brochures. Even though the girls thought the camps looked like a lot of fun, they didn’t want to be separated
“What if I need Lauren?’’ Karen asked.
“What if I need Karen?’’ Lauren cried.

Their mother put her arms around both of them. “You girls will always have each other. You’ll always be twins,” Pam said. “But you’re two separate people. You can’t always do everything together.”
Lauren, you want to be a painter,” said Charles. “And Karen, you want to be a pianist. This is the perfect chance to do what you love for the entire summer!”
