The Burning of the Clock festival in Brighton, England takes place winter and celebrates the shortest day of the year. The festival only started 1993 and is now celebrated 21st December every year. The festival takes place night. It starts at six o’clock the evening with a procession of enormous paper clocks. Before the festival people spend weeks making the clocks. These are then burnt on a big fire about seven o’clock. After the fire, there are fireworks and music and dancing on the beach.
