Read the following passage and choose the correct answer to each of the questions.
In history, there were brave people who fought for gender equality to ensure that women had the same rights as men. These amazing women campaigned tirelessly to bring about change and help women gain equal rights.
One such hero was Susan B. Anthony, who fought for women's rights in the United States in the 19th century. Susan led important campaigns and joined committees to help women have the right to vote. Thanks to her dedication, women could finally participate in elections. We feel delighted and grateful for all she did for gender equality.
Emmeline Pankhurst, a British activist in the early 20th century, organized campaigns and protests to win women the right to vote. Her efforts allowed British women to vote in elections in 1918, which was a big achievement.
Sally Ride, another incredible woman, marked an important milestone in both gender equality and scientific advancement. In 1983, she became the first American woman in space when she was 32 years old. This was a big step for women in space and science. Her achievements inspire girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This helps develop a more equal scientific community.
These women, through their campaigns, hard work, and the support they gave, have made important progress in the fight for gender equality.
