Read the following passage and choose the correct answer to each of the questions.

Mark Johnson

Hi everyone! I want to share a story that changed my perspective on life. It happened last year during a solo trip to Japan. I was really anxious about traveling alone for the first time.

My itinerary was packed with temples, museums, and famous landmarks in Tokyo and Kyoto. On my second day, I was at a busy train station trying to find the right platform. I couldn't read the Japanese signs, and I was getting more stressed by the minute. When I finally asked for help, I accidentally showed the wrong ticket to the station worker. I felt so embarrassed because there was a long line of people behind me, and everyone was staring.

The worker was very patient and helped me find the correct train. I was so relieved when I finally sat down. During the journey, I decided to take some selfies to send to my family, but when I looked at them, I realized how depressed and lonely I looked. I felt sad traveling by myself. But then, I met a Japanese man. He sat next to me and noticed I seemed upset. Even though he spoke very little English, he showed me pictures of his children and shared some of his homemade rice balls with me. I was amazed by his kindness. His warm gesture made me feel so much better.

I took another selfie after our conversation, and this time I looked happier and more relaxed. For the rest of my trip, I made an effort to interact with local people more - at restaurants, shops, and temples. I'm grateful for that moment because it taught me that human connection can turn loneliness into joy, even across language barriers.
