Pete's Festival Blog
Last summer, I was on holiday in Thailand during Songkran. It's a festival that takes place over three days in April when Thai people celebrate their New Year. Many people call Songkran the Water Festival because the festival marks the end of the dry season. Everywhere I went, locals were having playful water fights - using bottles and buckets. They do this to wash away their bad luck so that they can welcome the new year with a fresh start. I got soaked too when an elephant splashed me with water! I've uploaded some videos I recorded onto my blog.
