Record Number of People in Space
September 11, a Russian Soyuz rocket took three astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). This has made a new record. 19 people are now in Earth’s orbit at the same time. The old record was 17.
The three new space are Don Pettit from NASA and two Russian cosmonauts, Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner. They will arrive at the ISS about three hours after launch.
