Edinburgh

Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is known as The Athens of the North. It may not have the great climate of Greece, but it has its on its architecture. The New Town, started to be built in the 1760s, has many important buildings, inspired by classical architecture. Today, this area of Edinburgh is full of galleries, cafes, restaurants, and shops and is very popular the hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit the city all year round.

Probably the most famous building is Edinburgh Castle. Parts of the castle date back as far as the 11th century. Back then, the city was completely different to the busy tourist attraction of today. It was a dark foggy city all the fires which were burning. Add to that the amount of waste from the human population, and it's not surprising that it was extremely smelly.

Luckily, today Edinburgh is known for better things. Probably one of the most important events is the Fringe Festival which place every summer and fills the city with performers and tourists from all over the world.

Fill in each blank with ONE best word.

Losing

The aim of most games is win, and we would all win than lose. Winning is fine, of course, but whenever there's a winner there's always a loser, and losing is not usually very pleasant.

It's important to deal losing in the right way. It's not very helpful just to think "They must have been very lucky to win," as this removes all responsibility from us. Similarly, if we just say, "I wish I a better player," we're not focusing on how to become that better player.

Losing can be helpful, though, if we into the causes of why we lost. It can help us improve. It's useful to think about your performance in terms of what you have done differently. We can avoid the same mistakes if we say to ourselves things like: "I ought to have attacked earlier," or "I would have scored that goal if I'd run a little bit faster."
