One day last week, Jim got up and went to work. He put on his trousers, shirt, and jacket very quietly because his family wasn't awake. Then he went to the bathroom, had a shower, and cleaned his . He went downstairs to the kitchen, made a cup of and ate some bread and cheese. Then he picked up his bag and to work on his bike. He was surprised because the street was very quiet. There were no cars or people there. Jim worked at the library, but when he tried to open the of the library, he couldn't. A man with a dog stopped to talk to him. 'It's Sunday, you know!' he said. The Library
The library is a good place to be on a wet day. You can find the answers to all your questions there. When you want to know about the world you live in, there are a lot of books to read. You can learn about mountains, rivers, animals or the stars.
You can the books home with you for three weeks. The library is a great place to do your homework it is always very quiet so try to talk loudly when you are there.
Some libraries have a shop and you can buy things pens and maps there. There's sometimes a cafe. Try to go to the library more often!
Look at the pictures and read the story. Write some words to complete the sentences about the story. You can use 1, 2 or 3 words.
Cloud and the lost scarf
Julia's home was in the countryside. One day, Julia and her black and grey dog, Cloudy, went for a long walk in the forest. They saw a white rabbit. It hopped behind some tall grass, and Cloudy quickly ran to try to catch it.
'Naughty dog! Come back here!' shouted Julia. Cloudy came back but there was something white in its mouth. 'Oh no!' Julia thought.
