For many people, traveling by plane is an exciting experience. THE GREAT HANSHIN EARTHQUAKE

The Great Hanshin earthquake, or the Kobe earthquake was a large earthquake that struck Japan. It occurred on January 17th, 1995, at 5:46 a.m. It measured 7.3 on the Japan Meteorological Agency magnitude scale. This powerful earthquake had its epicenter located on the northern end of Awaji Island, near the busy city of Kobe with a population of over 1.5 million people. The earthquake lasted for approximately 20 seconds, but its impact was terrible.

In total, 6,434 people, mainly in the city of Kobe, lost their lives. Additionally, it caused approximately ten trillion yen in damage. This earthquake was the worst earthquake in Japan's history since the Great Kanto earthquake in 1923, which claimed 140,000 lives. The Great Hanshin earthquake remains a reminder of the destructive power of nature and the importance of preparations to deal with disasters in any situations.
