A. Exploring and understanding other planets could open up new possibilities for our species.

B. Absolutely. And having sunlight is essential for energy and warmth.

C. But did you know that for a planet to support human life, it needs certain conditions?

D. I think that this planet must have craters on its surface.

E. That makes sense. And the temperature can't be too extreme, right?

Anna: Have you ever wondered if humans could live on other planets?

Ben: Sometimes, I think about lives on Mars or Jupiter.

Anna: It's fascinating, isn't it?

Ben: I didn't know that. What are those conditions?

Anna: Well, first, there needs to be a breathable atmosphere with enough oxygen for us to survive.

Ben:

Anna: Exactly. It should be within a range where water can exist in liquid form.

Ben: I guess having a protective atmosphere is important to shield us from space radiation.

Anna:

Ben: So, scientists are looking for these conditions on other planets to find potential new homes for humans.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun in our solar . The daytime temperature can reach up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit (430 degrees Celsius), while at night, it can drop into around -290 degrees Fahrenheit (-180 degrees Celsius). This happens because Mercury doesn't have a thick layer of air like Earth does. So, it can't hold on to heat, making the temperatures change a lot. Therefore, life on Mercury, as we know it, is highly unlikely. There is no protection from harmful solar radiation and no air to on Mercury. Also, the planet's position near the Sun means it faces strong solar winds that could affect or water source.

However, scientists find Mercury and study it to learn more. Even though regular life probably can't survive there, studying Mercury helps us know more about our solar system. Special , like NASA's MESSENGER, have given us useful information about Mercury. While living there might not be possible, understanding it is still important.

Write a paragraph (80-100 words) to describe an alien living on another planet in your imagination.

Your writing should include:

  • name of this alien
  • its living place
  • its appearance
  • its behavior and lifestyle
