The Changing Face of Vietnamese Families

Vietnamese people have always been , with strong ties to extended family members. Traditionally, several lived together under one roof. However, in recent years, there have been significant changes in this tradition. With increasing urbanization and influences, more young people are choosing to live independently or in nuclear families. This change has created a generation between the older and younger generations.

Modern technology, such as smartphones and social media, has also face-to-face interactions in many families in several ways. For example, family members may spend more time individually on their devices to surf the internet, watch videos, or play games, instead of interacting with each other. While technology can help connect distant relatives, it can also lead to less time together. Despite these changes, Vietnamese people try their best to maintain their family culture.

Write an email (100-120 words) to your friend about things that have changed in your family in the past five years.
