Harry Parnell: Photographer of the Stars
I've always been interested in photography. When I was a child, I used to borrow my parents' camera. This annoyed them, so, when I was about ten years old, they bought me my own camera. After that, I spent my free time going around taking pictures. I enjoyed taking pictures of flowers, trees, and animals, but most of all, I liked taking pictures of people. I still have my childhood photo albums. Most pictures weren't that great, but I like looking at them. They remind me of what I first felt when I started taking pictures.
When I finished school, I did a photography course and then I got a job working for my local paper. I liked the people I worked with, but I found it quite boring after a while. I used to have to take dull pictures of local buildings and new types of cars; that kind of thing. After a couple of years, I trained in digital photography and portraits with another photographer. Then, I moved to a national newspaper and that was more interesting, but I finally decided to work for myself taking pictures of famous people. I like exploring how settings and people interact. Many famous people got to know me and liked my artistic talent. I have been working as a portrait photographer for many years now.
When I tell people what I do for a living, they imagine that I'm an unpleasant person who follows famous people, takes embarrassing pictures of them, and makes a lot of money. Actually, I don't do that. Usually the people I photograph want me to photograph them. We create an atmosphere in their own garden or outdoors where they can feel comfortable. The only thing that can happen is that sometimes they suddenly decide they don't want to be photographed. That can be annoying, especially if they've asked you there in the first place. But that doesn't happen very often.
I find my job exciting and challenging. It has a creative side and also a technical side. I have to imagine and shoot the best photo and I also have to use different accessories to get different effects.

Choosing a Career
You know what they say; find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life. So, if you are thinking about what to do with your life, this may be something to consider.
Especially because there are so many jobs to choose from and many things to think about, such as qualifications and financial rewards. The only answer seems to be "choose one that makes you feel that you are getting paid for doing something you truly love".
Unless you have grown up with a talent or are keen on something that you can make a career out of, you need to consider certain things about yourself. What suits your personality? We are all different and just because your best friend wants to be a doctor, this does not mean that you should follow. This means thinking carefully about the path you need to follow to get that job. Are you willing to get the training or education needed? If it's just because it's well paid, then, for sure, sometime in the future you are going to feel "empty", even with a healthy bank account.
Nowadays, there are plenty of online career sites, but the main part has to come from you. You need to be honest and measure your skills and talents realistically. Also, you may need to talk to your parents who have their own ideas, based on their own experiences, about what you should do. They don't want to see you having financial problems or being unemployed. But at the end of the day, it is your life. There is no point in being miserable for the next forty years just to please someone else.

The changing Internet
The internet may have started in the 1960s, but it wasn't until the 1990s when it became to the public. In 1994, the Stanford Federal Credit Union was the first bank in the world to online internet banking.
By 1995, people around the world were starting to have internet in their homes. Internet in those days very slow because they had to use a dial-up . The computer needed to use a telephone line and sent noisy like a fax machine does. One of the problems was that if you were using the internet, you couldn't make or phone calls.
Over the years, the internet became faster and faster as there was no need to use the telephone line for internet. Today, the internet is more complex than ever. It computers, satellites, mobile devices, and other gadgets in a network million of times bigger than the original one.

The Tower of London
I hope you like the photos of our holiday. My favorites are the ones the Tower of London. The big black birds you can see in one of the photos are called "ravens". The story goes that if ever these birds leave, the Tower will fall along with the country. are always supposed to be least six but the Tower keeps seven or more, just to be safe! The guide explained that it was King Charles II ordered this when he was warned of the dangers of killing the birds.
They don't want the ravens to fly away so one of their wings is "clipped". We were told that this doesn't hurt them at all but that it stops them flying away. All the birds are given names and I was surprised learn that the oldest one they've had was called Jim Crow, which lived he was 44 years old!
