Từ vựng chủ đề Thời tiết - Weather

Thời tiết luôn là đề tài được sử dụng nhiều nhất khi bắt đầu các cuộc trò chuyện, làm quen. Do đó, nắm vững từ vựng chủ đề thời tiết bằng tiếng Anh sẽ giúp bạn thâm tự tin khi giao tiếp.

1. Từ vựng về Tình trạng thời tiết

Haze màn sương mỏng, thường gây ra bởi sức nóng Haze often occurs when dust and smoke particles accumulate in relatively dry air. 

2. Từ vựng về Nhiệt độ

Temperature nhiệt độ  Temperatures have risen over the past few days (= the weather has become warmer). 
Thermometer nhiệt kế  Most thermometers are closed glass tubes containing liquids such as alcohol or mercury. 
Degree độ  The term degree is used in several scales of temperature. 
Celsius độ C  The sample was heated to (a temperature of) 80°C. 
Fahrenheit độ F   Are the temperatures given in Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Hot nóng  In hot weather, we sell masses of cold drinks and ice creams. 
Baking hot nóng như thiêu  It was July in New York, baking hot, and we were in the corridor with a microphone singing: “So here it is merry Christmas.” 
Cold lạnh  It's freezing cold today. 
Chilly lạnh thấu xương  The bathroom gets chilly in the winter.

4. Từ vựng về Các hiện tượng thời tiết

Hail mưa đá  There will be widespread showers of rain, hail and sleet.

Ví dụ:

Ngoài cách hỏi chung chung như trên, bạn cũng có thể hỏi cụ thể hơn: ở thành phố này có mưa không, thành phố kia có đang nắng không… bằng mẫu câu hỏi sau:

Is it + hiện tượng thời tiết + in + địa điểm cụ thể (thành phố, quốc gia)?

Does it + hiện tượng thời tiết + in + địa điểm cụ thể (thành phố, quốc gia)?

5.4. Hỏi về thời tiết trong khoảng thời gian nhất định

Hỏi về thời tiết trong quá khứ:

  • What was the weather like + thời gian (yesterday, on Tuesday, last week, etc)?
  • How was the weather like + thời gian? (Thời tiết hôm qua/tuần trước/… như thế nào vậy nhỉ?)
  • Was it + hiện tượng thời tiết + thời gian?
  • Did it + hiện tượng thời tiết + thời gian?

Ví dụ:

Hỏi về thời tiết trong tương lai:

  • What’s the forecast like? (Dự báo thời tiết thế nào?)
  • What’s the forecast for + thời gian (tomorrow, the next 3 days, next month…)? (Dự báo thời tiết cho ngày mai/tuần tới/… thế nào?)
  • What will the weather be like + thời gian (tomorrow, on Sunday, in October…)? (Thời tiết ngày mai/tuần tới/… sẽ thế nào nhỉ?)
  • Do you know if it will/is going to + hiện tượng thời tiết + thời gian? (Bạn nghĩ trời có … vào … không?)

Ngoài ra, còn có một câu nói tương tự với câu “Hôm nay trời đẹp nhỉ” trong tiếng Việt:

5.6. Cách mô tả thời tiết

Để mô tả thời tiết, cách đơn giản nhất là bạn sử dụng mẫu câu:

  • It is + hiện tượng thời tiết (tính từ) hoặc It is a + tính từ + day
  • It is + hiện tượng thời tiết (V-ing)
  • There is + hiện tượng thời tiết (danh từ)

Under the weather (chịu ảnh hưởng thời tiết)
