How to write a letter
1. Write your address and today's date at the top of the page. In some cases, it is OK to just write the date.
2. Write the name and address of the person to whom you are writing.
3. Greet that person with "Dear" or "Hi", "Hello" followed by his or her name. Be sure to end your greeting with a comma.
4. Write the letter.
5. End the letter. Your close depends on your relationship with the person receiving the letter. If you're writing to a friend or close family member, you could use "Yours," "Fondly" or "Love". But if you write to your manager or teacher, you might find a better match with "Sincerely," "Regards," or "Best".
6. Sign your name directly below the closing.

Hi Helen,
I hope you are OK. Last weekend, I went to an amazing concert in the park. My favorite band was there as well as lots of other great bands and singers. It started at 6 o'clock in the afternoon and it lasted until midnight. There were people selling food and drinks and everyone had a great time. It was great fun for people of all ages and that is why they are thinking of doing it again next year. You should come!
Bye for now,
Sarah

Dear Sue,
I'm just writing because I want to say well done in your piano exam. I can't play the piano at all. You're so clever and I'm so proud of you! I shall listen to you when I come to visit you in the summer. I hope you will have an excellent time after finishing your exam.
The weather here is lovely! And it's not long until the holidays now. See you all then.
Love,
Grandma

Dear Aunt Sally,
Thank you very much for my lovely birthday present. When I opened it, I was very happy because I wanted a CD player and now I've got one! Dad bought me three CDs last week so I can listen to them in my bedroom now!
I had an excellent party with all my friends. Thanks to your present, we played a lot of different CDs in the living room. I received some books from my friends. We are going to come and see you next week. See you then!
Love,
Sarah
