Read the following passage and do the following tasks.

Almost every house now has electronic waste, or 'e-waste.' This includes many different old devices that we don't need, like old mobile phones, printers, and televisions. When we throw these items away, we usually don't know what happens to them.

Peter Essick, a journalist, wanted to know the truth about e-waste. He decided to follow the e-waste to its final destinations in different countries. He discovered that a large amount of this electronic waste travels to Ghana, in Africa. In Ghana's local markets, old computers are sold. People usually don't repair these computers; instead, they break them down to take out valuable materials such as gold and copper. However, melting these parts is very dangerous for the workers. This action produces toxic chemicals that hurt people's health and the local environment.

After his investigation, Peter Essick believes that we should stop the international shipping of this electronic trash. He thinks it is an environmental and health problem. He wants companies to be responsible for making new electronics that are easier to recycle and safer for the environment when they become waste.
