“Life of Buddah”: A Book Review

What would you do if you were born as a prince with all the exclusive fasilities to enjoy this material world? yes, most of people will celebrate and enjoy every single right that they have as a son of a king. Beautiful women, money, parties and all senses’ gratifi cation stuff. Surprisingly, it didn’t work that way for little Gautama who in the future would be a Buddah.

In the book “Life of Buddha”, it is told that Gautama was born as a prince. He got all the facilities to make him being comfortable staying in the palace. The king didn’t allow him to get out from the palace for outside of the palace is the place of real life happened.

One day, the king asked him to get married but the prince rejected it and decided to leave the palace instead. There, he started his spiritual journey and later on had self realization and became a buddha.

This book is suitable for you who like to read about someone’s autobiography and life’s lesson. As a reader I can say that I learn a lot from this book. High recommended as something to read before going to bed!

The most useful thing I have ever learned

The most useful thing i have learned is surely speaking English. I’ve been studing English for nine years till now. I used to take regular classes in these language which i found very interesting. Also, i learn English in school, my teacher is awesome but strict, so i have to study constantly. But most of all, i learn English, watching movies, TV shows. Allso cartoons when i was younger. When i came across a movie which was subtitled i turned the
subtitle off. I enjoy wathing TV and movies on English.

English is the most spoken language across the world. It is studied all over the world. In order to get in a conversation with a stranger from other country, you need to speak English. I’m a swimmer, so i go on competissions in many countries, and in all of those countries i speak English. I want to study abroad when i finish highschool, so i’ll defenetly need English.

All in all, i enjoy speaking it, writing it, and I’m very glad I got to learn it, i fi nd it very useful.

Dear David,

I’m glad your friends are visiting my area soon for a week’s touring holiday. I have many ideas what I can show them and tell about.

In my opinion the best way to travel around will be by bike because of small distances between the places and views are amazing.

My area includes also beautiful Baltic Sea which many tourist visit especially in summer. Your friends could sunbath or swim if they would like but the water is quite cold in this season. Beautiful sightseeing of sunrise is the best memorise!

You wrote that they are intrested in history of my local area. That’s great! We have museum of our local history where I can go with them. Tickets are not so expensive and I can think about some discount.

What do you think about it? Would you mind send me some your ideas?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best wishes,

Sam

Use of Technology in Education

Introduction

This report is intended to inform how technology is used in common lessons and recommend the most interesting technical developments to be seen. I conducted a survey among teachers and students in order to find out what is prefered to be used by them.

Technology in different subjects

The majority of the people claimed that the best thing were computers and interactive boards. I was given these reasons:

  1. They provide an opportunity to make the lessons more enjoyable
  2. Everybody is able to find information on the internet whenever they want to
  3. Computer presentations can be easily given

However, use of another technical developments vary among students and teachers depending on which subject they focus on. For instance, people were interested in Science mentioned these points:

– newly equipped chemical lab with its recently purchased substances

– equipment suitable for teaching Physics (e.g. digital watches, laser)

Recommendations

For most of the people who I asked for their reply were really important computers and interactive boards in the classrooms. I would therefore recommend seeing this. On the other hand, if you are interested in particular subjects you ought to see their specialised classrooms with a variety of modern technical developments, too.

I always listen to music, wherever I go I have my headphones on my ears. Listening to what I like satisfy’s me and makes me calm all the time. When the bus is taking me to school I listen to the music so I could wake up.

I love to listen to classical music, jazz, rock, hip-hop, dubstep, pop music. But I can’t listen to Serbian folk, any rap, techno or K-pop music. It just anoy’s me. Of all the songs I can listen, I adore pop and dubstep the most. I’m glad that my parents listened to rock and ninetees serbian songs which I like to listen sometimes.

Everybody has his own taste for music, somebody likes rock, somebody likes rap or something else, and that’s ok. I’m proud of myself that I’m listening to what I’m listening.

The course I have been recently is a language course. In september I went to a Italian course for improving my level of Italian, with a native teacher, Andrea.

The classes were very funny. Everyday when we arrived to the class he gave us a song in which there were gaps which we had to fi lling them while we listened the song. After that we did differents exercise, the majority of them for improving our vocabulary. For instance we spoke about restaurant, shops, cinema and so on.

The most interesting thing that I learned was how to prepare a theater play, and it was fantastic. During a week we wrote a play based on a book, and the last day of the week we interpreted it. Everyone had a different paper on it. For me it was an unforgetable experience, because I spent a wonderful time doing it and I learned a lot of idioms.

I would recommend this course because Andrea is a nice person who teach you with interesting exercise. Learning Italian isn’t boring with him.

Hey Sam!

What’s up? Thanks for your last letter, I really hope I’ll be helpful. So, my special place is definitetly my building’s roof. I always go up there when I need to stay alone for a bit, take an important decision, or think carefully about something. Previously I didn’t have a special place, this discover dates back to when I was 13. I was looking for a place with a great view to take a picture for my grandparents, so I decided to climb the roof beacause this building pretty high, and when I got there I was just speechless. From there you got the complete view of the entire city, beacause of the heigh there are no cars noises or other annoying noises. I brought a chair and a few pillows over there just to make it a little bit more comfortable. No one else come there, cause the access is forbidden for some reasons, and, of course, nobody knows I climb there. At first It was just a place where I could be alone but then it got special. I gave my first kiss on that roof, and we are still together.

love

Camilla

The perfect seat, or not.

Have you ever gone to Australia? Well, my brother had. And he bought there a totally unusual object: an special chair which has a variety of facilities to enjoy.

This product is as big as a common chair, but with lots of other characteristics. It contains many boxes, places for food and drinks, a radio and a little tv too! All these make this special chair a complete unusual object. Sitting on it you feel like a kind or a queen. It is really comfortable and not as expensive as I thought it was.

The chair seamed to be perfect, but it was not. One day, an uncle of my brother and I came to our house and he sitted on it without taking much care. It was the ending of the product. It came into pieces. Apparently, the chair was not strong enough to support my uncle weight.

In our country this is an unusual object, but if you go to Australia you will find it everywhere. I recommend you to buy it, but try not to allow everybody to sit on it. The chair will not survive.

Hi Alex,

How are you? I hope you’re ok. I’ve rethinked your problem. I found out two things. First of all, if you want me to give you the best advice, I would like to have more information. Secondly, you can’t make anything you really don’t want to. Talk with them, and maybe you’ll together find a solution. But anyway, I think that you don’t want to talk with them. Well, at least I wouldn’t want to. So, if you’re just like me, just talk with them face-to-face and clearly say: ‘no’. But if it still isn’t a good solution for you, I’ve got one more idea. Perhaps, there is a person who plays guitar as good as you, and maybe he or she will agree to replace you for a couple of hours. Think about these ideas. I hope I helped. Write back soon, what you decided.

Good luck,

your XYZ

“THE FAIRY”

Jerry read the email and decided to go to the shopping centre immediately. The idea of getting something for free was just too tempting. He sat in the café, as the instructions in the email told him to do so, and waited. Suddenly, a mysterious woman in a pink, sparkling coat appeard in front of him. Jerry swore he saw wings hidden under it. Could that really be a fairy? The woman looked at the boy and said: “I’m going to give you a present but you have to promise me not to be mean to other people”. She handed him a package and then walked away. At this point you should know that Jerry was a bully, who was never nice to his friends at school.

The boy rushed home and opened the present. Inside he found a brand new xbox. Jerry spent hours playing video games from that day on. One time, Timmy - his neighbour asked if he could join in. “Don’t even think about it, stupid!” Jerry said. And then, the xbox disappeared. Jerry knew he hadn’t listened to the fairy. He apologised and decided not to hurt others anymore.

I usually not watch TV programmes because I prefer reading a book and seeing a film to watching TV but I always make sure to watch one programme on TV which is 'Open Concert'. It is a kind of music programme that shows once a week. 'Open Concert' is consist of sevral guests and a MC. The guests sing a song and talk with the MC about their music which is like a real concert.

Last week I also saw that programme and the guest was very famous singer who songs lots of his song which was brilliant. I would like to see him again.

However, they changed their programme's timetable which is a little bit confused because I didn't know that so I missed one which was three weeks ago. therefore I was a bit disappointed. They should have noticed but they didn't. Although they had a mistake, I still like this programme.

I don't know if I have found the perfect holiday destination but I'm sure that Watamu is the best place I have ever visited.

Watamu is a small village on the coastline of Kenya. It takes three hours to arrive there by car from the capital Nairobi but it's a trip that is worth to be done.

When I booked the holiday I thought I was going to spend all the time laying on the beach. I was wrong! Once arrived there i discovered a lots of way to have fun. The sea and the white beaches with the palms are stunning but there something more you can enjoy. The countryside is also interesting and people are friendly and sell the products of their poor country always smiling.

And you cannot imagine how amazing is to make a safari in the park. Because of the very hot temperature, you have to set out very early in the morning if you want to see all the animals. The landscape of the park is fascinating, everything seems to very dry, there are no trees just bushes. Driving on your jeep you discover something really special: a wild world full of life.

I am a egologist person and me and my family take care of the environment and so we use public transport. Nowadays, there is a lot of pollution and we have a lot of enviroment problem like greenhouse effect ozone hole. The car is one of the environment problems.

Almost all people use care because is more convenient. Why? Because when we need move we don't have to wait the public transport, we don't have to change bus or train. But there are a lot of advantages to take public transport. First of all, it is four our future, less pollution!

Sometimes the public transport are quickly than car, during the travel you can read, sleep, speak with other people. If we take a special card is not so expansive and is less dangerous for the accident.

Disadvantages for the car the fuel is expansive, a lot of traffic and a lot of danger in the street.

My slogan is less car, less pollution, better life.

Finally, I think in the future we will use more public transport than the car.

Last year I travelled in England with my family, and we stayed in one very nice hotel. It was small and the owner was a man, Mr Brown, and his wife.

My parents had a double room and my sister and I shared a room which it had two beds. We had a balcony which we could see the sea. Our rooms were very comfortable and we had televisions which my sister and me watched sometimes in the evening when there was a good film.

These were two very good things about the hotel. First, the owner who was kind to us and very funny. Nothing was too difficult for him, and he was always helpful. Then there was the owner's wife who was such a good cook! Every morning we had wonderful breakfast with eggs and bacon and sausages. So my parents decided we could eat there in the evenings also and she asked to us what we will like to eat. It was great!

So if you go to Banbridge, you should go to this Star Hotel. I am sure you will enjoy it very very much.

In the past, young people used to wear their parents clothes, so that they would look like they were older. The truth is, that nowadays, young people, always want to dress differently from their parents.

It seems that to them, that their parents' clothes are 'old-fashioned' and are worn only by the 'old people'. These suits of the young men's fathers, look as they say, like if they were going to a funeral and these dresses of the young women' mothers look like if they were made 'in the wild west'.

And if young people don't wear clothes like their parents', what kind of clothes do they wear and why? Nowadays, young people have a tendency to wear informal clothes, especially really large jeans and T-shirts. The clothes that young men wear don't differ a lot from the young women's. The only exception is that young women tend to wear really tight trousers and blouses. In my opinion, they want to wear these clothes in order to make a revolution, as they are recieving a lot of pressure from their parents.

Could you live without television for a week?

That's a good question! It seems very easy just to turn off the TV set and spend your time better. But you have to realise that you must find something instead watching TV.

I think before you start, your first week without TV you must plan your activity. You will see how many things you can do during your new free time.

You can for example do something for your health and fitness - you can go swimming, play tennis or go cycling. You can meet your friends, call parents or just do your room. You will be able to read more books or find new hobby. You will see that life is not just TV!

I tried to live without television and now I enjoy my life much better. So don't think too long - try!

It was dangerous, but I knew I had to do it. It was a new challenge and not only for me but for everyone there.

Nobody thought I was capable of doing it.

I wasn't sure of what to do, and the pressure of everyone watching me was driving me mad.

Finally, I managed to move my right foot closer to the edge. I could listen to the crowd shouting 'to go'. That was my only chance. Only a few more seconds, otherwise my time would be over.

I didn't even think of looking down. I was already paralysed, and that would help me at all.

Then, by some'strange power my left foot was moving and I wanted to stop it, but it was too difficult.

The clock was naming tic tac. And suddenly everything stopped. I felt an enormous peace. Somehow I managed to Jump out of the airplane and I was flying!

Those minutes, up in the air, feeling the wind in my face, were fantastic. And then I was terrified when I couldn't open the parachute! Fortunately, I wasn't alone.

5b.

Dear Kate,

I haven't read the book of Pride and Predudice but I saw the film last week. I think it is beautiful story. I liked it very much.

I think the reason why It is still a good story is numerous.

Firstly, in the film, as in the book I think, Mr Darcy is so handsome that you can think of him like a famous star from the TV today! His love story is not easy - just like alI the film and drama on TV today. You can imagine them true.

Also the sisters in the story are very like in real life. But the mother is not very nice person. I think she is silly person and we can all know someone like her. All young people think that their parents do not know anything and so it is very much like real life.

I recommend you to see the film of this story. I think it's the perfect way to spend some free time.

Lots of love,

Daisy

Everybody keep saying that being rich and famous is the best thing could happen to them. I don't think so. There are pro and cons on being rich.

I think being rich and famous means not having a private life, because everywhere you go you are follow by a photographer. You always have to have a bodyguard for your own safety, and that means never being alone.

You always have to be careful of who are you meeting, of what are you wearing.

You're allow to be yourself only in your own house.

On the other hand, you don't have to worry about not having any money at the ena of the month or don't know how to pay the bills.

I think the best thing is to have a nice job that you like and earn enough money to allow you to have a nice house with a garden, and some free time to spend with your family and friends.

The most important thing in life is being happy and I don't think money makes you happy.

Review of Galway Music Festival

I went to the Galway music festival in the summer this year, The festival take place in Ireland, and so music is nearly all Irish traditional music. Some of the music it is very sad, and some very happy and very fast and everyone danced. The songs they are often very sad and sang by the girls. A typical musical instrument is like a violin — it is called a fiddle and it can sound both hapy and sad. Personally I loved the hapy music called jigs.

The festival lasted three days, and on the last day there were øome new bands who played more pop music. I liked this better than the traditional music and so did most of the young people who went to the festival.

But I recomend that you go to this festival if you visit, the Ireland. The place is very beautiful and the festival is very typical. You will be safe and enjoy and you maybe will hear lots of different kinds of music and have a great time. It is good for families to go and listen to different musics.

So eventually she decided to revenge to all man in the world by bring up Estella as a 'heartbreaker.
