Trong cuộc họp hay công việc hàng ngày, đôi khi bạn phải xen ngang hay ngắt lời 1 ai đó do họ nói quá dài dòng, lạc đề... Hoặc bạn muốn tham gia câu chuyện, đặt một câu hỏi nhanh, bày tỏ ý kiến... Vậy những mẫu câu nào giúp bạn xen ngang mà không làm cho người nói phật ý?

1. Ngắt lời để truyền đạt một thông tin gì đó

• I’m sorry to interrupt but you’re needed (on the phone / in the office / in the classroom / etc.)
• Sorry for the interruption. It’s Jim / Peter / Mary on the phone.
• Pardon me, but I have John on the phone.
• Excuse me, could I get a signature / an answer / a cup of coffee quickly?

2. Xen ngang để hỏi 1 câu hỏi không liên quan đến vấn đề đang thảo luận

Các câu này thường được dùng khi bạn có 1 vấn đề quan trọng nhưng người bạn cần hỏi lại đang bận với việc của họ.

4. Ngắt lời để kết thúc cuộc trò chuyện

• Oh! Sorry to interrupt but I just noticed the time and I need to get to work. I’m very sorry. But it was great chatting with you.
